Cheer Director

Welcome to Oak Harbor Youth Cheerleading.  Thank you for your interest in our program. Cheerleading is a great sport that combines gymnastics, cheer, stunting and dance in a team environment that is fun, challenging and rewarding! All of our squads cheer at football games in the fall and learn a choreographed routine to perform at one or more competitions throughout the season.

The season begins mid-August and concludes in November.  The goal is to provide a positive learning experience, focused on sportsmanship teamwork, safety and fun!

Cheerleaders can choose to participate in both game day cheer and competitive cheer or just game day cheer.  All cheerleaders learn a variety of skills such as cheers, jumps, stunts, tumbling and dances. Cheerleaders are assigned to a team and cheer for them weekly at both home and away football games.  Game day cheerleaders perform crowd involvement cheers, half time routines, stunts, and tumbling to support our football players. Competitive cheerleaders perform routines in a competitive forum against other cheerleading programs.  Routines are judged based on a variety of criteria, such as difficulty, creativity and precision. Oak Harbor Youth Cheer promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, cheerleading basics and character development through the active participation in cheerleading.
